Country music is all about the fans. I'm talking about the down to earth,
hardworking blue collar men and women who are the backbone of the world.
The typical lives of those people have been cleverly woven into many,
many
songs that people love to hear. I'm proud to be a part of Country music.
I
will continue to write songs telling stories about the people I care
about and want to be around, (the Country music fan). I can say this with
sincerity because I am not only an artist, I'm a fan as well.

Jazz has been referred to as "America's only original art form"
which was developed
in the US in the early 20th century in African American communities in
and around
New Orleans. The term "jazz" was actually first used by a baseball
player named Ben
Henderson of the Portland Beavers and not by the creators of the music
style. He
called one of his pitches a jazz ball because it wobbled and there wasn't
anything
one could do with it. Later the name became synonymous with the music
style.
Today
some refer to jazz as the musicians music as it can be very complex.
Somehow, this style reached a little boy living in Finland near the arctic
circle.
He was immediately hooked on the style after listening to it. That little
boy was
me. I would listen to jazz every time it was played on the radio which
was only on
weekends. My school teacher told us that we were not allowed to listen
to jazz, as
it was not real music. She suggested that we only listen to classical
music. Perhaps
it was curiosity or rebellion that made me want to listen to jazz but
either way I
would want to be able to play it on some kind of musical instrument.
It's been over 5 decades now and thousands of miles away, since I had
my first taste
of jazz. I've played with countless bands on the road, some good, some
mediocre,
written hundreds of jazz tunes and mesmerized fans around the world on
piano. I am
still writing and creating jazz using piano and now on guitar as well.
Nothing has
made gold, although in my style of jazz now a days, very few ever do as
it's not
like in the pop scene. Although I don't do shows anymore, jazz is still
in my blood
and from time to time I get together with some other jazz musicians to
create what
comes from the heart, the mind and the soul. Jazz.
